Amy Osaba Flower Workshop
From the Amy Osaba crew: "Our
second AOE Flower Workshop was more than we could have anticipated. Just like our first go around, we were overwhelmed with the talent these ladies already possessed. The majority of these girls had established businesses whom were eager to branch out to a new style and meet some incredible vendors. We kicked off the workshop with another welcome dinner created by the AOE team with a little more streamlined vision than the last. Metals, glass, white on white were key pieces in our design choices perfectly accented by dreamy draping and luxurious linens.
The basis for the class was similar to last years curriculum. Bouquets, boutonnieres, flower halos, large arrangements, and a little business mixed in between. We focussed on working with products you want to work with and how to obtain your "ideal" client. Learning to identify and own your style so you can start producing the type of work you want to rather than producing solely for monetary gain. Though business is business, we have to start identifying ourselves as artists.
Though the in studio work day surpassed perfection, our on site arbor building day was just too good. It was quite brisk outside (aka freezing) our attendees were such troopers bringing their best foot forward to really create something they are proud to be apart of. Our company works as a team 90% of the time. Learning to work as a whole rather than an individual can be a tiring task but it is a vital part of the industry. We couldn't be more pleased with everyone's work.
Like we mentioned at our last workshop, we feel like we gained just as much information as we hoped we passed along to our new flower friends. This workshop is a learning and networking experience for us all and extremely humbling. We are grateful to be able to return to this industry after we have received so much from our wonderful clients and friends. Keep your eyes peeled for our announcement in the next month for our later summer workshop!"
