Walking with History | New Orleans Wedding Inspiration
When it comes to finding a wedding destination with character, few cities have more character than the historic New Orleans, Louisiana. The food is spectacular, the sights are amazing, and the list of things to do is endless. Located in the Lower Garden District, Race + Religious is the ideal venue for a New Orleans wedding. The venue is comprised of a two story Creole cottage, a three story row house, and a two story "slave quarter", all built in the 1830s. When deciding for the perfect location for this beautiful New Orleans wedding inspiration, designer Lottie Fowler of Grit + Gold Weddings looked no further than Race + Religious. "The venue boasts so much charm and history. It's a relic and living, breathing reminder of what Louisiana would have looked like in 1830. With patina'd walls, old brick paved walkways, the two story creole cottage was the perfect backdrop for our colorful design."
Destination wedding photographer Shannon Skloss, captured each detail within the historical space perfectly showcasing the rich history of the location while focusing on the emotions involved in a wedding day. Beautiful jewels from Christine Elise rest in antique ring boxes here fitting perfectly with the wedding design and historic location. Bridal accessories were provided by Untamed Petals. Classic calligraphy by Pretty Post creates another timeless detail that is perfectly at home within the historical space in New Orleans.
Ethereal lingerie from BHLDN looks heavenly and perfectly at home in the historic spaces within Race + Religious. A beautiful Galia Lahav wedding gown featuring a deep cut bodice, delicate beading, and a long train creates the perfect luxurious detail and allows the bride to stand out visually against the rich textures of the New Orleans location. Embellished slingback flats from Rene Caovilla added a comfortable yet exquisite touch. Hair and Makeup artist, Meg B, created a soft and natural beauty look with hair that transition from soft, loose curls to a dramatic, romantic braid.
